Northeast Ohio homes sales slightly surpassed the statewide pace in May from a year ago, increasing 7.1% locally compared with the Ohio increase of 7%, according to figures released Wednesday, June 22 by the Ohio Association of Realtors.

The Northeast Ohio Real Estate Exchange, or NEOHREX, operated by Cleveland-based Northern Ohio Regional Multiple listing service, said 4,529 listings were sold this May compared with 4,230 in the like month last year. The NEOHREX report covers Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Summit and 13 adjoining Ohio counties.
