Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce Honors Leading Realtors at Banquet

Mathias took home the chamber’s Hall of Fame Award after being introduced to banquet guests by William Harding.

Harding highlighted Mathias’ career as a realtor that began in 1979, and later with the launch of Pissocra-Mathias Realty in 1983. In January 2015, Mathias merged his company with Howard Hanna Realty and still stays involved with area real estate. Harding added that in the last 15 years, Mathias has sold more real estate than any other firm in the county, and has received recognition as a realtor at the state and national levels.

“(Mathias) is an exceptional son, husband, father, grandfather, employer and wonderful mentor,” Harding said. “Uncle Jeff greets everyone with a firm handshake, a warm smile – and a pen and a calendar.”

When accepting the Hall of Fame Award, Mathias said, “the Chamber of Commerce and what we do here is all of you – it’s giving back to the community. That’s what’s important to Tuscarawas County. My word that I have today is ‘relationships’ because relationships with people that care about each other is what makes this community what it is today.”

Mathias has been an active member of the Tuscarawas County Chamber of Commerce, having served as board chairman in 1992. He has supported many organizations and activities in the county, including his real estate firm’s annual Easter egg hunt held at Tuscora Park.
