Thanks to a generous donation from Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, kids ages 17 and under receive free admission to the Heinz History Center and Fort Pitt Museum until December 31, 2021. The holiday season is an excellent time to visit and is sure to provide an afternoon adventure for everyone in the family!
Just recently, a little member of the extended Hanna Family of Companies was able to visit the Heinz History Center, and he found himself overwhelmed with the number of activities available. Met with six floors of fun and learning opportunities, the first stop was to the A Very Merry Pittsburgh exhibit, where the ’Burgh’s holiday traditions were on display, and Santa met with visitors for socially distanced photo opportunities.
The next stop was the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, where memorabilia and hands-on activities reigned supreme. A custom-designed golf course, a football toss, and a bubble hockey table caught the valuable attention span of a seven-year-old while he learned about important sports figures in Pittsburgh history.
Located on the third floor, more hands-on activities were waiting in Discovery Place, where engineering opportunities, Pop Art, and games provided a playful stop on the adventure. When asked what his favorite exhibit was, our young friend highlighted this area as the clear winner!
Up through six floors and back down again, a visit to the Trolley in the first-floor Great Hall ended the adventure. Adorned with Christmas lights and holiday cheer, Pittsburgh Trolley #1724 beacons as an invitation to visitors young and old.
At Howard Hanna, we are proud to support this museum and to provide an opportunity to help families enjoy the holiday season and make memories for years to come. We encourage our readers to take advantage of the Kids Free program and visit before the year ends!
