PITTSBURGH, PA (Sept. 7, 2024) – The 41st annual Family House Polo Match, a beloved Pittsburgh tradition, will take place Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at the picturesque Hartwood Acres. This highly anticipated event, which attracts more than 3,000 spectators each year, raises critical funds for Family House’s mission of providing a “home away from home” for thousands of families traveling to Pittsburgh for medical care.
What began in 1983 as a simple fundraising idea for the first Family House facility has grown into a grand celebration filled with a professional polo match, tailgating, food and drink, live music, and much more. The event offers a fanciful, fun-for-the-whole-family experience, making it a cornerstone of Pittsburgh’s annual social calendar.
Howard Hanna Real Estate Services has been a steadfast supporter of the Family House Polo Match since its inception more than four decades ago. As a proud polo team sponsor, Howard Hanna has played a crucial role in the event’s ongoing success and growth. The company’s commitment to community involvement and philanthropy is exemplified through its long-standing partnership with Family House, demonstrating a shared dedication to supporting families in need.
“We are honored to continue our support for the Family House Polo Match,” said Howard “Hoddy” Hanna III, chair, Hanna Holdings, Inc. “As a co-founder of Family House, this organization remains near and dear to my heart, and we remain dedicated to making this event a great success.”
The 41st annual Family House Polo Match is not just an event; it is a celebration of community, compassion and the spirit of giving. Helen Cestra, sales director of Howard Hanna’s Lawrenceville City Living Office, serves on the Family House Board of Directors.
“For the past 41 years, Howard Hanna’s dedication to this event reflects our commitment to community engagement and support,” said Cestra. “Howard Hanna’s involvement is deeply rooted in our values as a company, and we are so proud to continue this tradition in support of Family House.”
“Howard Hanna Real Estate Services’ contributions over the past four decades have made it possible for Family House to truly serve those who must travel to Pittsburgh for medical care,” said John Plante, executive director of Family House. “We remain grateful to Howard Hanna Real Estate Services and the Hanna family for all they do for our organization, and the community as a whole.”
