Marilyn Kahn, a real estate agent in Howard Hanna’s Shaker Heights office, was recently featured by WKYC Channel 3 in an article about how she helped a couple purchase a home they never saw in person.
Despite never traveling to the area before, Ivey and Brett Baker found themselves needing a house in Cuyahoga County after Brett accepted a new job offer with the Cleveland Clinic in April. The couple used social media to find Kahn, who immediately understood the importance of the situation:
“Buying a home is the biggest purchase they’ll make in their lifetime and it’s a very emotional purchase,” Kahn said.
With Kahn’s help and guidance, the Bakers ultimately fell in love with their new home during a FaceTime tour.
The Bakers’ story is not unique in the area. Cuyahoga County has actually seen an increase in sales over this time last year, to the surprise of agents such as Kahn:
“We really thought it would be a major slowdown in the industry. It’s such a people-oriented business and we thought it would never work. It has been quite the opposite.”
