In July 2021, New York Howard Hanna Real Estate Services agent Jessica Barsom had the opportunity to help a long-time friend of almost 30 years and her husband find their new home. While helping friends is often the case in real estate, it’s rare to have the whole thing captured on film! HGTV’s House Hunters tagged along for the ride and documented the house hunt that brought a couple back home to New York.
Jessica’s friends relocated from the area to Washington D.C. several years ago but recently decided it was time to return to be closer to family and friends. Luckily, they knew just who to call! But what’s a house hunt without a few challenges along the way?
The clients had completely different wish lists – the husband wanted an older home with character, while his wife wanted a modern, open-concept home that would allow them to entertain and raise their family. Jessica worked hard to meet their wants and needs – and finally they found a home the couple could agree on together.
“It was really an exciting experience to film, especially because I was able to do it with my close friends,” said Jessica. “I am very excited to have my friend back home, and we will be watching the show air from her new living room.”
And Jessica did just that – on December 8, 2021, she gathered with her friends to watch their television debut. But the story doesn’t end there – in fact, there’s a lifetime of stories to be made in their new home.
