Pittsburgh, PA (March 29, 2021) – The Howard Hanna Children’s Free Care Fund Board of Directors today announced that Amy Martin has been elected as the new Executive Director, effective April 1, 2021.
Martin is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. She has an extensive background in administration and community relations at the Township of Upper St. Clair and the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon. Amy is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive and a member of the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives.
“Amy brings new leadership to our Foundation in building volunteer relationships, event planning and project management,” stated Howard W. “Hoddy” Hanna, III of Hanna Holdings, Inc.
The mission of the Free Care Fund is to assure that children never be denied the care they need due to lack of funds. To that end, since its inception in 1988, the Foundation has raised and donated more than $18 MM to various children’s hospitals and children’s causes in the Howard Hanna Real Estate footprint.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the Howard Hanna team and grateful for the opportunity to continue the long tradition of giving by the Hanna family,” said Martin. “Directing the efforts to help children and their families through the Children’s Free Care Fund will be challenging while we navigate new ways of fundraising in a pandemic era, but I am ready to pick up the torch and carry on the legacy. My goal for the Children’s Free Care Fund is to promote our mission to assure that children are never denied the medical care they require and the support their families need. My hope is that Howard Hanna will be recognized as a leader in pediatric philanthropy in all markets we serve now and in the future.”
