Seven Ways to Make Buyers FALL for Your Home

The weather is finally starting to cool off just a little signaling that fall is officially here. But maybe you’ve never thought of autumn as a time that you can use to your advantage as a seller. There are many things you can do to help your home standout in the fall, but these seven easy steps will set you apart from other sellers on the market.

1. Create Curb Appeal That Turns Heads

First impressions make all the difference when it comes to selling your home. Take some time to spruce up your home. Do some landscaping, paint your door or even put up some seasonal décor. Make sure that you’re getting a potential buyer’s attention the moment they see the home.

2. Stage for Emotion, Not Just Space

You want to make buyers feel at home. Use things such as scents like cinnamon or pumpkin spice. Have some warm lighting on around the home. You could also have cozy throws. These small things can have a huge impact.

3. Declutter and Depersonalize

Take the time before potential buyers arrive to clear out any personal items you may have. Buyers will want to visualize what the place would look like with their decorations during this time of the year. It’s also a good time to remove any excess furniture so people can see the space.

4. Let Natural Light Do the Talking

Bright homes tend to feel happier. Let natural light in as much as you can. Open curtains, clean your windows and use mirrors to amplify the light. If you don’t have a lot of natural lighting, opting for warm bulbs will help to give the same effect.

5. Highlight Key Features with Subtle Touches

Draw buyers’ attention to key features in your home. If you have a fireplace, hardwood floors or anything built-in, this is a great time to showcase it. Maybe sure to be thoughtful while you’re staging so that your home’s most unique features don’t go unnoticed.

6. Make Every Room Count

Every room in your house has potential. Whether it’s a reading nook or a library, everywhere can be turned into something great. Make sure that you’re showing off each room by showing that each space can be usable.

7. Set the Mood with Seasonal Accents

It is fall after all. Tap into the vibe of the season by using seasonal décor. Neutral colored pumpkins, leaves and candles will help to get people thinking about what their life could be like in the home. But remember to try to stick to cozy, not spooky since Halloween is right around the corner.
