Norfolk, VA (July 9, 2020) – Howard Hanna Real Estate Services is proud to announce its partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore’s Summer Food Service Program. With Howard Hanna’s support, the Foodbank will provide thousands of fresh meals to children in need.
The Summer Food Service Program provides free, healthy, nutritious grab-and-go meals to children ages 5-18 on a first-come, first-served basis. The Foodbank works collaboratively with local houses of worship, civic centers, and other agencies and programs in the area. By partnering with neighborhood organizations, children can walk or bike to receive meals in a safe, supportive environment where social distancing measures are taken to ensure the health and well-being of children participating.
Howard Hanna reached out to offer support, and the Foodbank asked the company to underwrite large coolers to support their efforts to provide additional fresh grab-and-go meals, to meet the increasing demand due to COVID-19 in the community and in on-site summer camps.
“Depending on how the meals are packaged, we can fit roughly 30 meals in each of these coolers! Thank you, Howard Hanna!” said Jessica Sullivan, Director of Development at the Foodbank.
